Potential bridge jumper talked down by negotiator

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A man who was threatening to jump off the bridge across the Flint River downtown was talked down by police.

APD identified the Albany man as Travious Brinson, 20. They say he was straddled on theOglethorpe Bridge when an Albany State Police officer arrived.

ASU contacted APD, and a police negotiator responded.  The negotiator talkedwith Brinson, and soon he came off the side of the bridge.

Brinson was transported to a crisis center for further evaluation.

APD said the East bound lane of the Oglethorpe bridge was shut downfor about 10-15 minutes and the west bound lane was shut down for about fiveminutes.
