You know sugar isn't good for you, but a new study shows if consume a lot of sugar, it could be bad for your heart and brain.
According to government dietary guidelines,"empty" calories like those from sugar added to food and beverages should account for no more than 15% of your daily calories.
"We definitely need to pay attention to what we are intaking as Americans we need to form a balanced diet or have a foundation for developing a healthy diet," said Teresa Graham, Nutrition Director.
That new study shows adults who got 25% of their calories from sugar were almost three times more likely to die of heart problems than those who consumed the least.
