ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The man who police say was behind a wild drive-by shooting that ended in two car crashes and four people shot Monday in downtown Albany remains in jail.

24 hours after he was arrested, 35-year-old  Gamba Brown, the man accused of wounding four people in a drive-by shooting in downtown Albany made his first appearance before a judge.

Brown is facing several charges including four counts of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, alluding police, and firearm possession.

Police say Brown drove up to a Crown Victoria in the 100 block of West Highland and started shooting. One of the victims drove off and crashed in the DFACS building downtown.

Police soon after Brown crashes his Mercedes E350 on Broadway Court and then took off running. He was captured around 8:00 Monday morning on Clark Avenue.

Because of the level of charges he's facing, no bond was set.

According to jail records, Brown has been in and out of lockup since 1995 and spent time in prison of a drug conviction.

The victims, police say suffered non-life threatening injuries. Detectives say the shooting stemmed from a fight at an Albany nightclub.
