Two robbers hold up South Albany store

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Two men wearing black hoodies rushed into U.S. Beauty Mart on West Broad Avenue a little after 6 PM Monday night and demanded money from the registers.  At least one of them had a gun.  12 customers were in the store.  They ran out the back of the store to escape the robbers.  WALB spoke with one woman who goes to the shop for hair products.  She says the employees are friendly, and she is shocked this happened.

"It's dangerous because people are getting bolder and I feel like it's all about money, it's the want for money, people don't have it so ok well they have so let me go take it, but personally people need protection these days," said Falencia Wallace.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

WALB is waiting to hear back from police to find out if the store has surveillance cameras that may show the robbers.

If you saw something suspicious in the area or know anything about the robber, police want you to call the crime stoppers hotline at 436-tips.
