Area church hosts Super Bowl party

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Its a tradition at an area church to hold a Super Bowl party each year. Sunday the New Greater Grace Church of Christ hosted a big party for the game.

Both Denver Bronco and Seattle Sea Hawk fans came out to watch the game. Organizers say it's a great way to celebrate football and God.

"Everything that they need is in God everything that they need is in Christ. There's fun in Christ, there's football in Christ. He's made everything beautiful in his time and we can come out and not only praise and worship the lord together, but we can have fun together," says Elder Allen Grant.

Dozens of people came out for the party. Food was also served.

Ahead of heavy rain showers and winds projected for our area, the Georgia State Patrol said there's not as many travelers on the roads during this holiday weekend.  "So far I think this attributed to the weather and gas prices being so high, it seems that in our area of the state, traffic has been down some," said Trooper Christopher Jewell, GSP Post 40.
