ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Kids were busy making bird feeders at the Flint Riverquarium Sunday. Its all part of the Riverquarium's Discovery Days events.

Each one has a theme and today's was the "Great Backyard Bird Count".

Coordinators say this is a great way for kids to learn about different types of birds and how important their role is in nature.

"The main thing we want kids to take from this is kids learning more about adventure, about the outdoors, and why the aquarium is important to this area," says Youth Activities Coordinator Faith Foggy.

Discovery Days is held the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month.
