Night of Hope benefits Cancer Coalition of Southwest Georgia

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

People enjoyed a night of dinner and dancing in honor of a good cause.

The Cancer Coalition of Southwest Georgia hosted its first ever "Night of Hope" event.

The event kicked off with a silent auction. People also enjoyed dinner and live entertainment.

Organizers say this allows them to expand their outreach programs.

"We invite individuals and businesses and organizations in the community to support our efforts because we can then in turn serve more people with our cancer screenings to serve prevention research and education," says Diane Fletcher, CEO of the Cancer Coalition of Southwest Georgia.

About 300 people attended the event.
