TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

A South Georgia organization is auctioning off an expensive item to help increase literacy in the area.

The Literacy Volunteers of Tifton-Tift County will host their Chocolate Classic at the Tifton Hilton Garden Inn.  10 vendors will provide chocolate samples for people to taste as they vote on their favorite dessert. A golf cart will be among the many items in the auction. Proceeds will go towards a literacy project.

"Which include English language classes, and GED preparation and high school graduation test help with those who can't pass the test and need some help with it," said Liz Carson Keith.

The event is February 6th at 6:30 p.m. You can buy a single ticket at the door for $10 or two tickets for $15.
