Albany flights still impacted

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

While the weather is improving, Albany flights are still being impacted by the winter storm.      The mid day flights in and out of Southwest Georgia Regional airport were canceled Thursday.

Airport officials are asking passengers to be patient and check their flight status online before showing up.  It could be several days before airports are back to normal.

"Airlines still do not have flight crews where they need them to be," said Airport Director Yvette Aehle.  "They don't have airplanes where they need them to be.  So that might be a big reason why our flight this afternoon was canceled is because they can't move airplanes and flight crews where they need them. They had to put them down where they were when the storm hit."

Airport officials also encourage you to update your information when you making a flight reservation so the airline can contact you if there are changes or a cancellation.
