EDISON, GA (WALB) -

Marksmanship is a skill every military service member has and Friday morning some of them will be putting those skills to work for the 7th annual Purple Heart Outdoor Tour. It's an event, Purple Heart Outdoor Tour President Dan Hammack feels will jump-start new relationships in a very unique way.

"We're all brothers, that's what we call ourselves, if you're around us we only refer to each other as brother, often, we are," Hammack said.

Brothers from the Marines, Army, Air Force and Navy, all who are seasoned non-commission officers with special honors. And even some who have been wounded. Hammack says the hunt gives servicemen a chance to de-stress.

"They don't take themselves as seriously as you might think they do," Hammack shares. "They're just regular guys, almost all are a family man and they enjoy a good time, we all do and this is the way we do it."

The Outdoor Tour started back in 2007 and since has connected people from around the world.

"These guys they have already, met each other and bumped into each other again in places like Afghanistan and go like ' hey, I remember you, we hunted together in Georgia and that was a great time' and they'll be friends," Hammack recalls.

Nearly 50 special unit members will be spread across 6 different plantation sites, making 50 more memories for honored servicemen.
