ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Water, Gas, and Light officials say power outages were not a problem during the winter storm.

They didn't get any reports of outages last night or Wednesday.

Officials say they had their entire equipment ready... Just in case.

"Well the beauty of a major utilities company like us is that we are prepared 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We certainly had all our trucks gassed up ready to go and we certainly had everybody on stand-by that they might be needed out in the field," said Asst. General Manager Lorie Farkas.

Farkas says the cold weather will bring unusually high utility bills for customers.   They are preparing to assist customers with extended deadlines.
