Many south Georgia grocery stores are full of people grabbing food and supplies. A busy day at the Harvey's Supermarket at Slappey and Gillionville in Albany.
This winter storm has shoppers stocking up in case they get stuck in.
"Just getting prepared. My wife and I doing a little shopping," one man said.
For Lucious Jester, the encroaching winter storm created an appetite for spaghetti. "I like to cook spaghetti when it's raining and when it's cold out. I Have bread and milk. I bought bread and milk yesterday."
The staple grocery items, bread and milk, were hot items on a cold day.
"Just making sure we have plenty of those items. Bread, we get with our vendors to make sure we keep everything full. As far as milk, just make sure we have plenty on hand. I have had a few extra people come in just to service the rush," said Rob Cheek, Harvey's mgr.
This rare winter storm will likely keep the checkout line busy.
