THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A Thomasville homeowner helped police track down a man suspected of a burglary on his property.

When officers responded to the home on Jefferson Street Friday, the homeowner told them which direction he saw the burglar run.

Officers quickly caught 50-year-old Kelvin Randall, who remains in jail.

"The homeowners actually saw the burglary taking place and was able to point officers in that direction upon arrival, the suspect fled, officers pursued him and apprehended him due to the help of the citizen," said TPD Lt. Eric Hampton.

Police are still investigating, but they know a chainsaw was taken from a shed behind the home.
