ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Area tow truck services are preparing the bad weather that's expected to hit Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Managers with Quality Wrecker say they expect business to increase anywhere from 25 to 50 percent once the bad weather hits.

"Since most South Georgians are not accustomed to driving in snow and ice weather, they say there tends to be an increase in accidents on the roadways," said Andy Lawton.

They say right now staff is preparing for the influx of calls. Typically they average about 25 calls on a normal day.

"In the business were in, it picks up greatly, folks here are not accustomed to driving on the roadways and possibly snowy, and accidents happen, and we wind up getting people out of ditches quite a bit."

He says the average wait time to be towed is around an hour to an hour and a half depending on location, but could be longer if the weather turns bad.
