DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

Last Wednesday a man splashed a cup of hot coffee on a store clerk and then robbed the Flash Foods in Douglas.

Police have now identified a suspect in that case and want the public's help in locating him.

Douglas Police Investigators have a warrant for the arrest of Earnest Lawerence Knighton, but the second suspect has not been named.

Knighton is wanted by the Douglas Police Department for Armed Robbery and Battery.

Two men went into the store on East Baker Highway, and one of the men threw a cup of hot coffee into the face and upper body of the female clerk. He pulled a large wooden stick from under his coat, and forced the clerk to the cash register.

The crook forced her to open the register, and then took the cash, before running away from the store.

The Clerk was treated at Coffee Regional Medical Center for burns she sustained from the coffee.

Contact the Douglas Police Dept. at 912-384-2222 or the Tips Line at 912-260-3600.
