ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Police say they have a suspect in custody in connection to a robbery at Westover Lawn and Garden.

Officials say the suspect may be connected to theft and shoplifting cases at Sams Club, Staples, and Gander Mountain stores.

Surveillance video from the scene showed a white GMC truck pulling into the parking lot of Westover Lawn and Garden shop on Westover Boulevard Monday afternoon. Employees say the man in a green shirt was in the store for more than 30 minutes looking at mowers and talking to several sales representatives about prices.

According to a report, as soon as the sales rep turns his back, the man made his way over to the generators, picked one up, and walked out of the store with it.

Investigators are also working with Tifton Police to see if other connections exist.

No official charges have been named in the case.
