Boy Scouts deliver popcorn to Marines

Albany Marines are enjoying a special treat tonight thanks to Boy Scouts. Scouts handed out more than $8,000 worth of popcorn to troops at the Marine Corps Logistics Base Thursday afternoon.

They sell popcorn to raise money for scouting programs, but they give donors the option of buying popcorn for service members as part of the Boy Scouts outreach to the military.

"It's been a very beneficial, they earn their own way which is a basic tenant in scouting, it's giving back, where blessed to have the troops here delivering the product," said Matt Hart, Scout Executive.

The South Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts raised about $200,000 through popcorn sales.
