ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Three Albany men were arrested Thursday accused of stealing scrap metal from an Albany business.

Surveillance video at Green Clippers on Cordele Road caught the thieves stealing metal from behind the business Tuesday.

Albany Police traced that truck and this morning arrested Kajuana Buchannon, Stevie Brown, and Lawrence Williams on theft by taking charges.

Albany Police Detective Tim Harvey said "The victim, he noticed that some people have been checking and asking about the scrap metal he had. So he set up his own camera system, and that is what actually led to the arrests."

Albany Police say metal thefts dropped dramatically after the state mandated people show identification when selling metal.
