STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

Vera Owens described her son, Julius, and his life before he disappeared Nov. 7, 2012.

She talked about the 27-year-old overcoming a bout with schitzophrenia and recoverinng enough to live on his own and spend time with his children.

"I don't believe he would have been gone from his daughters this long if he could help it," she explained.

She reported him missing to police the next day after he didn't answer his phone for their daily call. The day after the report, police found his white Chevrolet Trailblazer in the parking lot of an apartment complex known then as The Point at Southern off Veterans Memorial Parkway.

Police told WTOC they found evidence of foul play, but would not give details.

Detectives and Owens believe someone, somewhere, knows something.

"If somebody's got a conscience, whether he's living or not, if you see this, think about it That's somebody's son, somebody's brother, somebody's uncle, somebody's grandson. He's a part of us and no mother would want to go through this, no daughter either," said Owens.

Anyone with information about Owens is asked to call Statesboro Police at 912-764-9911 or CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020.
