Shelters want to keep people from sleeping in the cold

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Shelters in Albany are ready for those who need to get out of the cold coming Friday.

The Salvation Army says they're always ready to accommodate people during cold weather.

They say all their beds have been full since the last hard freeze earlier this month but an overflow area is set up.

"There's a pride thing that happens and even though we open the doors and welcome folks to come in, you always have the few that tend to want to tuff things out.  So our heart goes out to that," said Major Kelly English.

The Albany Rescue Mission is also full but will keep the chapel open until 11:00 for anyone who needs a place to sleep.
