COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Blue Cross Blue Shield has announced an expansion in our area.

The company told the public Thursday it's consolidating two current sites at Warm Springs and Milgen Road to make room for the new building at the technology center.

BCBS says it will be a brand new state-of-the-art high tech flagship building.

They presented photos of what the new building might look like that will house all of their associates with the opportunity to expand.

The company says it's really excited about this opportunity in Columbus.

"Our commitment to the state of Georgia, its citizens, our members and our customers that we serve here is unwavering," said Morgan Kendrick, President and General Manager of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia. "I think this signals the fact Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Georgia is making an investment in the state of Georgia for continued long-term growth."

Morgan Kendrick says Blue Cross Blue Shield has been serving Georgia citizens for 77 years and that's not changing anytime soon.
