ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful officials recognize volunteers for their dedicated service.

The group hosted its 25th annual Volunteer Celebration Luncheon at the Civic Center Thursday. It included a performance by the Lincoln Elementary School choir. Twelve volunteers were recognized by Mayor Dorothy Hubbard. Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful officials say their work has a huge impact on the community.

"When you think about it, you got businesses looking at coming to our community and who wants to come to the community and the first thing they see is trash or old buildings or what have you. This is an opportunity for everybody to be involved and everybody can take a part in," said Jeanette Henderson.

Thousands of volunteers donated more than 84,000 hours of service in the past year to improve Albany and Dougherty County. If you'd like to volunteer with Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful contact their office at 430-5257.
