Free small farms opportunity workshop to be held on Sapelo Island

MCINTOSH CO., GA (WTOC) -

A free workshop for small scale farmers and anyone interested in starting a small agricultural operation will be held Thursday at the Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve. 

Attendees will learn about financial assistance provided by USDA agencies to small agricultural producers, as well as receiving expert advice on rural development issues, irrigation basics, and other technical matters. 

The workshop begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve Long Tabby Educational Lab.
