100 Black Men launch mentoring partnership

A partnership between Macintyre Park Middle School in Thomasville and the 100 Black Men of Grady, Thomas, and Brooks County will help male students to prepare for manhood.

The group kicked off a new mentoring program on Tuesday, mentors got to know the young men and the group plans to meet with students at least once a week.

The program will begin in middle school and continue as students go through high school and into college.

"We always hear the Proverb, it takes a village to raise a child, we will have a lot of professional men, who want to come into the school system and actual support our young men," said Keith Hose.

"I hope that through this partnership, we will be able to help young men in the middle school grades to become productive citizens of society," said chapter president Michael Bryant.

The partnership is an extension of the school's Excel program.
