Albany Airport: Always comparison shop for tickets

The Albany Airport director says the increase in the cost to fly is a challenge that all places are facing, and that means comparison shopping is more important then ever.

Four main carriers, Delta, United, Southwest, and American control 80 percent of the seats on flights in Southwest Georgia.

Officials admit airfare service costs are higher out of Albany, which is why they suggest shopping around for the best deal.

"There's not more than 50 people that fly out of Albany at any given time so even if the flight was full your only gonna have 49 other people in line beside you so its much more convenient . So we keep talking about that message and asking people to continue to compare," says Airport Director Yvette Aehle.

All flights from Albany go to Hartsfield Jackson international airport in Atlanta which remains the busiest airport in the world.
