A portion of Hardy McManus Road will be closed Wednesday and Thursday for utility work, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
A detour will be in place between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day on Hardy McManus Road near the intersection of Halili Farm Road. Barricades and detour signs will be installed prior to the closure.
GDOT officials said motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible. They are also asking motorists to use caution, reduce their speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in all work zones.
The work is part of the widening and reconstruction of William Few Parkway beginning at State Route 104 and extending to Hardy McManus Road. The $6.3 million federal project is expected to be complete by November of this year.
