Pot seized in Saturday raid in Sylvester

SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) -

Early Saturday afternoon, Sylvester Police arrested a man who had seven ounces of marijuana in his house, and charged him with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

They also seized $756 in cash from the home of 51-year-old Byron Cortez Marshall, and took him to jail.

The Sylvester Police Department issued this news release-

On January 18, 2014 at 12:54 p.m., the Sylvester Police Department Drug Unit conducted a search warrant at 223 East Lee Street in Sylvester. 

Once inside the residence, approximately 7 ounces of Marijuana and $756.00 in cash were found and seized. 

B/M Byron Cortez Marshall, age 51, who lives at the residence was arrested without incident and charged with Possession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute. 

Marshall was transported to the Police Department, booked, and released to the Worth County Jail. 

The drug unit was assisted with the search warrant by other members of the Sylvester Police Department and Poulan Police Department.
