Metal stolen from Goodwill

Albany Police are investigating the theft of hundreds of dollars of scrap metal from the Goodwill Industries store in Albany.

Employees at the store on North Slappey Boulevard found a metal storage trailer open and empty Sunday morning.

Goodwill officials say they recycle the scrap metal from donations.

The value of the metal was estimated at $500.

They say they're working on ways to prevent future thefts.
