Ashburn man arrested for murder

ASHBURN, GA (WALB) -

Jamarcus Akeem Clark of Ashburn has been charged with killing Kerry Benald Glenn, last Tuesday, in Houston County.

Houston Co. Sheriff Cullen Talton issued this news release Monday-

On Saturday, January 18, 2014 Houston County Sheriff's Investigators secured a murder warrant charging 23 year-old Jamarcus Akeem Clark of Ashburn, Ga with the murder of Kerry Benald Glenn, which occurred on the evening of Tuesday, January 14, 20114 in Houston County.

During the investigation, Houston County Sheriff's Investigators received information from the Turner County Sheriff's Office regarding this case. This information led to identifying Jamarcus Akeem Clark as a suspect in the shooting death of Kerry Benald Glenn.

On Sunday, January 19, 2014, at approximately 5:00 PM, Jamarcus Clark was arrested by the Turner County Sheriff's Office and members of the Crisp, Turner, and Tift County Sheriff's Response Team.

Clark was arrested after a brief foot chase after he was initially spotted by law enforcement officers. Jamarcus Akeem Clark has been transported to the Houston County Detention Center where he is being held on the murder charge, without bond.

The investigation into the death of Kerry Benald Glenn is continuing. Multiple agencies have been assisting the Houston County Sheriff's Office during the investigation including the Turner County Sheriff's Office, the Crisp, Turner, Tift County Crisp, Turner, and Tift County Sheriff's Response Team, the Perry Police Department, the Ashburn Police Department the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
