VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

22 year-old Gerald Griffin, of Valdosta, has been arrested in connection with the shooting that occurred in the parking lot of the Liquor Barn on North Valdosta Road in Lowndes County on January 9.

According to a release from the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office, investigator signed a warrant for Griffin's arrest Friday afternoon. Deputies spotted Griffin driving on highway 84 near James Road later Friday afternoon. Griffin was pulled over and subsequently arrested.

Investigators believe Griffin is the shooter, but they are still working to determine a motive for the shooting.

Griffin allegedly got into a verbal argument with three others in the Liquor Barn parking lot on January 9, which led to the shooting. One of the three other people was shot, but did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
