ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Some talented young musicians are preparing for a performance tomorrow night.

About 80 students make up the Dougherty County Middle School Honor Band.

They'll perform a free concert at Albany High tomorrow evening.

The students had to compete for spots in the band.

Organizers say this allows students to expand their talent,t and play with students they might not otherwise see during the school year.

"It gives you an opportunity to sit and play with people that you have never played with before, especially when it comes to playing your instruments sometimes you get a little comfortable playing in your own band room and going into a new environment playing with other experienced musicians you increase your level of competitiveness," says Mevonnie Biggins.

Tomorrow night's performance will start at 7 p.m.
