We now know the victim is 16 year-old Brenton Helstock.
He was released from Phoebe Putney Hospital tonight after being treated for a gunshot wound to his left arm.
Helstock is now recovering at home while police search for the shooter.
Albany Police and Dougherty County School Police swarmed the neighborhood around Albany High late Friday afternoon. School Police are now leading the investigation.
They tell us Helstock was walking away from campus when a young man who had an ongoing feud with him drove up and confronted Helstock on Tift Avenue next to Hugh Mills Stadium.
Police say they got into a fight, and the suspect pulled out a small caliber handgun and opened fire at Helstock and 18 year-old Qars Griffin.
Helstock was hit. Griffin ran toward campus to notify a school police officer.
Police officers are still questioning witnesses and going through school security video to see what it shows.
