MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Three arrests have been made in an attempted robbery in Moultrie Monday night.

19-year-old Brandon Bennett, his brother 24-year-old Christopher Bennett and 19-year-old Aaron Wallace are behind bars for their involvement of planning a robbery that started out as a drug transaction. Neighbors told police that someone near the intersection of 7th Ave and 11th St SE was robbed at gun point. Police say a neighbor in the area exchanged gunfire with one of the offenders. No one was hurt. A patrol officer heard gunshots and followed a vehicle which then crashed into a shed behind a house. One person in the car fled from the scene. Police say at least three guns were used in the incident.

"We've recovered one of them that was used by the neighbor, it'll be sent to the crime lab for testing with the shell casings which were found. We're also looking for a 9 millimeter weapon and another 380 auto weapon," said Inv. David Jones.

All three men have been charged with aggravated assault. Moultrie police say there are more arrests to be made.
