THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Thomas County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a jail inmate they say escaped and is on the run.

Authorities confirmed that Charles Linwood Nix ran away from the Thomas County Jail around 7:15 Tuesday morning.

He is a white male, 35 years old, 5' 8", and weighs 145 lbs.

Thomas County Sheriff Stephen Jones said Nix was a suspect in a child molestation case.

Nix was last seen wearing an all-white jail uniform.
