A memorial service will be held this afternoon for Matthew Jernigan, the Southwest Georgia Academy student who drowned earlier this week.
When school was canceled because of cold weather Tuesday, Jernigan, Payson Trawick and Thomas Vines went duck hunting on Lake Seminole.
They were knocked out of their boat and Jernigan drowned.
Friends and school staff say Matthew loved life and was active in school sports.
Today's service for Matthew will be held at the school in Damascus.
