ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A South Georgia artist is showing off her work in downtown Albany. The Albany area arts council hosted a reception tonight to open an exhibit at the Carnegie Library.

Henrietta Ladson's paintings show the beauty of Southwest Georgia and places she has visited around the world. It's something she's been doing a long time.

"If you want to count the cats I drew when I was kindergarten, I would say almost my entire life. But I have always, really have an interest in art. I really didn't start producing canvases until I was an adult though," said Henrietta Ladson, artist.

The gallery on North Jackson Street is open Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM.
