Moultrie church opens shelter amid freezing temperatures

MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

A Moultrie church is opening its doors to help people escape freezing temperatures Monday night.

Greater Newton Grove Cathedral will open its doors as a shelter at 722 2nd Ave. NW beginning at 8 p.m.

Pastor Cornelius Ponder said the church will be able to accommodate up to 15 people for the night, and will have blankets and beds available.

The church will end its shelter services at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
