Check the battery and antifreeze before heading out on the roads
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The temperature is dropping more and more every hour and winds are picking up, those of you who will be driving out this morning take caution.
Before you even head out the door make sure you are completely covered head to toe, that means hats, gloves, scarves, heavy coats and boots if you have them, anything that will protect your mouth and your lungs. This cold can be very dangerous and protect your from getting frostbite. For your car, before you start the engine try turning the key just enough to allow the lights and radio to turn on, doing this will put less strain on your battery. Also, check the pressure in your tires and make sure you have plenty of anti-freeze. And don't forget to check your battery, a dead battery is very common in these conditions.
Monday night the temperature will be in the teens so it is very important to cover pipes and bring plants and pets inside.
