Mourners pay respects to night club shooting victim

Family and friends of Abraham Cleaver paid their respects Saturday evening to the 21-year-old who was shot and killed on New Years Day at an east Lubbock night club.

Mourners gathered at the Skool House Club, the location of the fatal shooting, four days after the incident occurred.

Candles were lit and balloons were released during the ceremony. The gathering was organized by his mother and sister, who said he will always be remembered by those he left behind.

Cleaver's two children were among those who attended Saturday evening.

Cleaver's wake will be on Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Griffin Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Community Baptist Church.

The 21-year old is a graduate of Estacado High School.
