LEE COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

A Kershaw County man was arrested without incident after sheriff's deputies say he violently stabbed a man at a Shell gas station early Saturday morning.

Authorities said 60-year-old Dennis Hoover stabbed a man, who he knew, several times in the face, arm and abdomen at a gas station near Hwy 15 and Interstate 20 near Bishopville in Lee County.

The victim was alert and was transported to a local hospital, authorities said.

His condition was not immediately known.

Authorities said Hoover and the victim have had an ongoing dispute.

Hoover was taken to the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center and is currently awaiting a bond hearing on attempted murder charges.
