    The rate increased because of seasonal factors, such as the summer job loss among non-contract school workers and temporary layoffs, primarily in manufacturing. There were 60,500 jobs in Albany in June, down by 300, or 0.5 percent, from 60,800 in May. Most of the loss came in state government and the service-related industries.More >>
SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating a crash that briefly shut down southbound traffic on I-85 Saturday.

Troopers said the crash happened just after noon on Saturday near mile marker 78 in Spartanburg County.

Troopers said a pick-up carrying a trailer lost control and overturned, scattering the contents of the trailer across the roadway.

Troopers said the driver and sole occupant of the truck had to be removed from the vehicle and was transported to Spartanburg Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers said traffic was stopped for about ten minutes while crews cleared the lanes.

Troopers said traffic continued to move slowly through the area for the next hour while crews cleared the scene.
