CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Fans lined up outside Clemson's Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon to welcome home The 2014 Discover Orange Bowl champions.

The Clemson Tigers football team returned home from Miami just after 3 PM, less than 24 hours after winning their first BCS Bowl.

Sammy Watkins broke his own Clemson records and set new Orange Bowl records for receptions and reception yards in a game with 16 catches for 227 yards and two scores as No. 12 Clemson rallied to beat No. 7 Ohio State 40-35 in the Orange Bowl on Friday night.

Watkins also tied the Clemson record for touchdown receptions in a career, according to the Clemson Athletic Communications Dept. He finished with 27.

Watkins set the Clemson single season and career reception marks tonight. He finished the season with 101 catches, and 240 receptions.

Watkins' final honor of the night was setting the Clemson single season record for receiving yardage. He finished with 1464.

Also a big night for senior Tahj Boyd, who first put the tigers on the scoreboard with his longest touchdown run in his career, at 47 yards, according to the Clemson Athletic Communications Dept.

Boyd also became the first quarterback in ACC history to have three seasons with at least 30 touchdown passes when he connected with Sammy Watkins on a 34-yard scoring pass in the first half, statisticians said. He finished the night with a Clemson bowl record five touchdown passes and with 34 for the season. Boyd finished his career with an ACC record 107 touchdown passes and 133 touchdowns rushing and passing.

This season marked the second consecutive season the football team has finished with 11 wins.

The win in Miami's Sun life Stadium was Dabo Swinney's 10th win over a top 25 team, and it moves him past Frank Howard into third place on the Clemson coaching list, according to Clemson statisticians. Danny Ford had the most with 20 and Tommy Bowden had 13.
