DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

Douglas city leaders say a new way for citizens to ask questions and request city services is working well.

The 311 customer care center opened in August inside City Hall. City leaders say it's an efficient way to handle complaints and work orders and improve customer service. Citizens can call in with their request or make it in person.

"We had a little slogan that we came up with, one call to city hall. We just encourage all our citizens here in Douglas to take advantage of it. Some people don't know about it. It's still kind of relatively new to our city, but we think it's a big plus to and enhancement to our city," said Mayor James Dennis.

The 311 customer care center is open seven days a week from 7 a.m to 9 p.m.
