Ashburn bids farewell to chamber of commerce president

ASHBURN, GA (WALB) -

Friday, the city of Ashburn is saying goodbye to their longtime Chamber of commerce president.

Shelly Zorn is leaving to become the director at the Thomas County Development Authority.  Zorn said she's grateful for her time in Ashburn and is honored the chamber board is giving her a farewell reception. 

"There's a lot I'm gonna miss about Ashburn," said Shelly Zorn, former President of the Ashburn – Turner County Chamber of Commerce.  "Mostly the people.  You know, you make friends.  We've been here 20 years and I've been at the chamber 14, so I mostly will miss the people and I will miss the Fire Ant festival most certainly."

Zorn said she's proud to be one of the founding members of the popular Fire Ant festival and to have helped create the industrial park in Ashburn.
