ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Police Department held a news conference Friday with survivors of Jamey Spurlock, who was gunned down in the Silica and Mobile Avenue vicinity near the sand dunes.

Spurlock was shot to death during an attempted robbery Sunday night December 22, on a dirt road off Mobile Avenue. Four people were seen running away from the scene, but they haven't been identified.

APD Detective Terrence Bryant led the news conference, and said that the investigators have made great strides in the case, but they want more people to come forward with information.

Spurlock's parents, Mary and Robert, were at the conference, and said that their son was a good man, who did not deserve to be murdered. They want some semblance of justice for their son.

The family is also asking for donations to help give Jamey a proper burial.

If you have information that may help, call Crimestoppers at 436-TIPS and you could receive a reward. You can also call APD detectives at 431-3288.
