MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Two siblings are in the Colquitt County Jail after investigators found stolen guns in their home.

Melvin and Carolyn Dillard are charged with theft by receiving stolen property and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Someone apparently was firing shots to celebrate New Year's Eve Tuesday. A Moultrie Police officer heard the shots while driving down 4th Avenue and went to investigate.

Carolyn Dillard told officers they could search her house. Police say they found an AR-15-22 rifle and a 44 magnum rifle that were stolen from a business in Perry.

Cops also seized ammunition and crack cocaine and scales used to measure the product.

"We're trying to do our best to get anything and everything off the streets including the firearms that are stolen, your drugs, prevent burglaries, robberies, anything we can to help prevent that's what we are here for," said Corporal Rocky Hancock, Moultrie Police Department.

Carolyn Dillard is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
