CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

While we don't know for sure that tractor trailer rig in Lowndes County was stolen, truck drivers know that's a risk of the business.

They say it's important not to leave the truck running and to lock it when it's parked. They also say it's important to be aware of where they park and leave their truck. One truck driver says he makes sure his truck remains intact twice a day.

"That's my means of survival. That's what I take care of my family by driving trucks so if the truck is stolen then I have no way to take care of my family," said Robert Ferguson.

Ferguson says he also keeps a GPS and phones in ahead of time to get directions of where he's going.
