LOWNDES COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

The Georgia State Patrol says the 43-year-old driver killed in a fiery crash along I-75 was T.L. Whitt from Winter Springs, Florida.

Whitt was driving the semi in the middle lane of I-75 when he veered off the road and crashed into a bridge around 2 p.m. Saturday.

The semi truck then caught fire. The Department of Transportation is assessing the damage to the bridge.

All three lanes of I-75 heading south have been reopened. We will provide more details as they become available.
