ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

"I wanna look like him one day."

That's the goal many of us have when we enter the new year, to lose weight and get in shape. And for staff at Tony's Fitness they say its during this time that hundreds of people sign up but only a few actually stay.

"People give out in like February."

Nix feels one way to help you stay on track is by having someone to work out with, it creates a sense of community.

"I start working out with them and its some of the best workouts that I have, so its good to have your workout partner. And then I see other people in here and hear their stories and its gives me hope," Tony's Fitness Assistant Manager Steve Nix said.

But not all workout buddies are created equal.

"You don't want to have someone who tags along with you, you want someone who is gonna push you, help you get those last reps," Tony's Fitness member Emily Ingram said.

Ingram feels health education is also important because life outside the gym should support life inside the gym.

"When you learn not to diet cause a diet is temporary and no one wants to be on a diet forever,' Ingram shares.

And if time is your excuse...

"Nobody has time to go to the gym," Ingram continues. "You have to make the time to go to the gym And we always make time to do what we love."

"Ya know its not just for the new year, it should be a way of life," Nix said.

Ingram feels its easy to get motivated but staying motivated is the difficult part. She says by setting small goals and finding activities that interest you is key in getting the results you want.
