ATLANTA (CBS46) -

A second person has been arrested in the death of an Army reservist killed in Kirkwood.

Qutravius Palmer surrendered to police and was charged with felony murder and armed robbery in the death of Xavier Arnold, 21. Palmer was taken to DeKalb County Jail.

Atlanta police arrested a 14-year-old boy on Saturday. Police aren't releasing the teenager's name because he is a juvenile, but officers said he is charged with murder and attempted robbery.

About 150 people endured the cold drizzle on Saturday evening during a vigil for Arnold.  The gathering was just yards from where Arnold was gunned down while walking on a trail Thursday night.

Arnold's mother and father cried and hugged loved ones. They also addressed the crowd, telling people their son was a "very good kid," a gifted artist who loved to skateboard and ride his dirt bike.  He joined the Army Reserves, assigned to a job making the maps for troops.

The shooting happened near Warren Street in northeast Atlanta in the Kirkwood community.

Arnold, his girlfriend and his best friend were walking along a bike path near some train tracks in the woods, on their way to take pictures of some graffiti, according to Rodney Reid, a close family friend.

Arnold was proud to serve his country, said Reid. "You could just see, when he took his Army pictures, how proud and just how bright and just elated he was."

On Friday, the Kirkwood community showed its support by posting signs in yards. The signs showed a black letter "X" on a field of yellow, representing the young man's name.

Police said on Saturday that this is still an open investigation.

They asked anyone with information on the shooting to call Crimestoppers at 404-577-TIPS.  A $5,000 Crimestoppers reward was offered for information leading to an arrest.
